When Matt and Lourdes Spinosa's young son began to show an interest in little league t-ball, Matt did more than just teach him the elements of the game. Matt volunteered to become the team's assistant coach. When their older son's teacher urged parents to play an active role in their children's education, Lourdes did more than just help her son with his homework. She spent her free time at the school, as a cafeteria monitor, a field trip chaperone and assisting teachers in the classroom. As an Army Intelligence Analyst, Matt made a lasting commitment to serve the military community with a sense of honor, integrity and honesty. "The Army taught me so much," Matt recalls. His service also gave Matt the opportunity to live in many locales all over the world, including Turkey and Saudi Arabia. In fact, Lourdes joined Matt in Turkey for 6 months. They moved across the world and around the U.S. together, finally making their permanent home in Virginia more than a decade ago. "We love it here," says Lourdes. "Northern Virginia is the perfect place to raise our children and dedicate ourselves to the community."
